In the realm of aesthetic enhancements, individuals often seek non-surgical solutions to achieve the desired physique. Lanluma bum filler, also known as a dermal filler, is gaining popularity as a non-invasive option for buttock augmentation. In this blog, we provide a neutral and informative overview of Lanluma, discussing its composition, how it works, potential benefits, considerations, and safety aspects.

Understanding Lanluma Bum Filler

Lanluma is a dermal filler formulated with polycaprolactone (PCL), a biocompatible synthetic material. PCL has a long history of safe use in medical applications like sutures and orthopedic implants. Lanluma is designed to enhance buttock shape and volume through a non-surgical approach but can also be used to balance and/or enhance other areas of the body.

Mechanism of Action

Lanluma works by injecting microspheres of PCL into the buttocks. These microspheres act as a scaffold, stimulating collagen production and tissue regeneration over time. The body gradually absorbs the PCL microspheres while producing natural collagen, contributing to increased volume and contouring of the buttocks. Lanluma can also help with the appearance of cellulite.

Potential Benefits

1. Non-Invasive Procedure:

Lanluma offers a non-surgical alternative for those seeking buttock enhancement, appealing to individuals who prefer to avoid invasive surgical procedures.

2. Gradual, Natural Results:

The gradual collagen production initiated by Lanluma results in a natural-looking augmentation, enhancing the buttocks in a subtle and blended manner.

3. Limited Downtime:

Recovery from Lanluma injections is typically quick, allowing individuals to resume their daily activities relatively soon after the procedure.

4. Long-Lasting Effects:

Lanluma’s effects can last for an extended period, often up to two years or more, providing a longer-term solution for those seeking buttock augmentation.

Considerations

1. Consultation is Key:

Before undergoing Lanluma injections, it’s essential to consult with a qualified and experienced medical professional. They will evaluate your suitability for the procedure based on your medical history, goals, and expectations.

2. Understanding Risks and Side Effects:

Like any cosmetic procedure, Lanluma injections may carry risks such as bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the injection sites. It’s vital to discuss these potential side effects with your healthcare provider and have a clear understanding of the associated risks.

Safety

As with any cosmetic procedure, safety should be a primary concern. Seek treatment from certified and reputable healthcare professionals who use approved products and adhere to proper medical protocols.

Final Thoughts

Lanluma bum filler presents a non-surgical option for individuals seeking buttock augmentation such as enhancement, reshaping and lifting. As with any cosmetic procedure, careful consideration and consultation with a qualified healthcare provider are essential. Understanding the potential benefits, risks, and costs associated with Lanluma will help you make an informed decision that aligns with your aesthetic goals and overall well-being.

Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure aimed at rejuvenating the appearance of the eyes by addressing issues such as excess skin, fat, and muscle around the eyelids. This surgery can be performed on either the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, depending on the individual’s needs and goals. In this blog, we’ll delve into the details of blepharoplasty to provide an informative and unbiased overview.

Understanding the Procedure

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty focuses on correcting drooping eyelids, which can result from aging, genetics, or other factors. During the procedure, a surgeon carefully removes excess skin and, if necessary, fat deposits to achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags and a tired or aged appearance. Surgeons may either remove or reposition excess fat and skin in this area, creating a smoother contour and diminishing puffiness.

Procedure Details

Anesthesia

Blepharoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the surgery and the patient’s preference. The choice of anesthesia is typically discussed during the preoperative consultation.

Incisions and Techniques

Incisions are strategically made to minimize visible scarring. For upper eyelid surgery, incisions are usually placed in the natural creases of the eyelids, while for lower eyelid surgery, they are made either inside the lower lid or just below the lash line. Through these incisions, the surgeon adjusts and removes excess tissue.

Recovery and Results

After the procedure, patients will experience some swelling, bruising, and minor discomfort, which usually subsides within a week or two. The recovery period varies from person to person, but most individuals can resume regular activities within a week or so.

The final results of blepharoplasty become apparent as the swelling decreases and the surgical area heals. Patients typically experience a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance, with smoother and firmer eyelids.

Benefits and Considerations

Functional Benefits

Blepharoplasty can improve peripheral vision by addressing drooping eyelids. Moreover, individuals may find relief from the discomfort associated with sagging or heavy eyelids.

Aesthetic Benefits

The procedure can significantly enhance a person’s aesthetic appeal by reducing the signs of aging around the eyes, resulting in increased self-confidence and improved overall facial harmony.

Considerations

It’s essential for individuals considering blepharoplasty to have realistic expectations and to consult with a qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon. Understanding the potential risks, recovery process, and costs associated with the procedure is crucial in making an informed decision.

Conclusion

Blepharoplasty is a surgical intervention that can yield positive results for individuals seeking to rejuvenate their eye area and achieve a more youthful appearance. It’s imperative to thoroughly research the procedure, consult with a reputable surgeon, and weigh the benefits and considerations before opting for this surgical journey. A well-informed decision can lead to a successful outcome, helping individuals regain their confidence and a more vibrant look.

Anti Wrinkle Injections, more commonly known as Botox, have in recent years become an increasingly popular treatment of choice amongst men and women of all ages. Mainly used to smooth and even prevent lines and wrinkles forming.

The most common areas of choice being the forehead. Used to smooth lines such as ‘frown lines’ and around the eyes smoothing and preventing ‘crows feet’. But, did you know, medical professionals are now using Botox in other areas of the face to create more aesthetic enhancements.

Masseter Botox

The Masseter muscle is the muscle located between the cheek and the jaw. This muscle is responsible for aiding in chewing. In some cases, the masseter muscle can cause problems such as clenching of the jaw, this gives the appearance of a wider face. Botox in this muscle can help relax the muscle and create a slimmer facial silhouette.

The Lip Flip Botox

Botox can be injected into the middle of the upper lip to help relax the orbicularis oris muscle. Doing this creates a very slight drop and curl upwards of the lip, which gives the appearance of a fuller pout.

Necklace Lines

‘Necklace bands’, ‘turkey neck’ are just some of the common terms used for this problem area. Overstimulation of the platysma muscle, that runs from the lower cheek, down, over the clavicles and across the curve of the neck is most commonly responsible for causing these lines. Botox can be injected into the Platysma to relax this muscle, giving a smoother more taught appearance to the neck area. Less turkey and more Cleopatra!

These treatments are more advance than the more familiar areas of Botox we all know. It is, always recommended seeking out a highly skilled medical professional to undergo any of these treatments to ensure suitability.

Endolift ® is taking the cosmetic industry by storm right now. Hailed as ‘the lunchtime facelift’ with results on par with cosmetic surgery. No downtime, stitches or scalpels, Endolift ® is paving the way for the future of cosmetic surgery.

What is Endolift ®?

Endolift ® is an innovative new laser alternative to surgical lifting and liposuction. With Its minimally invasive results and no downtime or scaring, it’s fast becoming the swift treatment of choice for many. A technology proven to boost collagen production and remodel deep and superficial layers of the skin with instant results.

Here we take a look at how the treatment works and answer some common questions.

What areas can Endolift ® treat?

Endolift ® is versatile and can treat a number of problem areas on the face and body such as:

Double chin, jowls, cheeks, mouth, jawline, lower eyelids, stomach, knees, inner thighs, bottom, hips, ankles.

How does Endolift ® work?

Endolift ® uses tiny, microscopic endoscopic lasers (these can be as thin as hair strands), these are inserted through the skin into the hypodermis layer. The laser then produces selected heat to melt away fat in the adipocytes resulting in reduced volume. This process along with the selective laser beam used with Endolift ® created immediate skin retraction due to the activation of neo-collagenesis.

How long does the process take?

The length of time this treatment takes is entirely dependent on the areas being treated and the number of areas being treated. On average one areas of the face could take between 5 and 10 minutes. The whole face could be between 30 minutes – an hour.

There is no recovery time with Endolift ® and normal activities can be resumed within a few hours.

Are there any contra indications for Endolift ®?

Endolift ® has no contra indications and can be combined with other treatments such as dermal fillers, skin boosters and anti wrinkle injections.

How long do results last?

Results can be seen instantly and continue to improve post treatment. These results can last between 2-3 years.

How much does Endolift® cost?

At Bold Street Clinic, prices start from £1800.

Endolift ® is carried out at Bold Street Clinic by Dr Paul Effiong, a cosmetic surgeon with over 23 years medical experience in both aesthetic medicine and surgery.

Think fresh and rested opposed to frozen and still. Baby Botox® is becoming increasingly popular for the clientele that want more of a Kate Middleton look rather than a Kim K.

Now, don’t get us wrong, both females are absolutely stunning, however both have a different look when it comes to aging.

What is the difference?

Baby Botox®, is simply injecting less solution into the muscle to create a softer appearance. Whilst still noticeably smoothing lines and wrinkles. This technique allows the client to have movement in the facial muscles resulting in the ability to still show facial expressions.

Why would I choose Baby Botox®?

Aimed at the clientele that maybe haven’t tried Botox® and want to dip their toe in, or the client that wants to maintain a natural, ‘has she, hasn’t she’? look.

Increasingly we are seeing more of the 30 something brackets of clients opting for this technique to keep them looking fresh but maintain their natural facial expressions. According to Glamour, over half (51%) of women aged 16-29 would consider getting cosmetic enhancements either now, or in the future.

What does our expert say…

We asked our Cosmetic doctor, Paul Effiong, what his thoughts are on Baby Botox®…

I think Botox® is a wonderful treatment, it can significantly reverse the signs of aging very quickly, simply and safely when being performed by the correct practitioner. Baby Botox® is effective in creating a more natural look for the patient by not restricting full facial movement. I recommend Baby Botox® for the younger patient that wants a little smoothing here and there. It is important to remember, Botox® relaxes the muscle, so maintaining the health of the skin is still key to maintain that plump glowing appearance.

Our verdict

Baby Botox® is a great ‘first timer’ treatment, or for someone looking for a ‘just had a facial’ look. Choosing the right practitioner is key for this method, someone with experience in performing this treatment who understands measures as this is key to desired results.

Fillers seem to be as common as moisturiser these days. According to a poll conducted by VICE, 59% of participants asked, viewed medical aesthetic treatments comparable with going to get a haircut. So, does it come as a surprise that the latest technique of injecting hyaluronic acid filler into the temple area of the face is taking the aesthetic industry by storm?

Temple fillers can be used for a number of reasons. Adding volume to the temple area to create a softer silhouette to the face, and to soften fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, resulting in an enhanced, lifted, youthful appearance. Another common concern for temple fillers is to fill any hollowing of the temple area.

We spoke with our Aesthetic Doctor and cosmetic surgeon, Dr Paul Effiong and this was his view on temple fillers…

‘Temple fillers can be a great way of softening the overall look of the face. They can add volume to the upper facial area, giving a great youthful look as the appearance of the whole face is lifted. As both women and men age, they lose volume in the face due to a lack of collagen, this can give the face a hollowing appearance which can be aging. By adding a cushion to the temple area, you can bring that volume back and give the face a more contoured and lifted look’.

Temple fillers are considered to be a relatively safe procedure; however, with any medical aesthetic treatment there are risks. It is always recommended to choose a medical aesthetic professional with plenty of experience.

Whilst it may not be one of the most common areas of filler requested, according to the Victorian cosmetics institute, it is the hidden secret to enhancing your face. with the current trends we seem to be seeing in the clinic and most recently in Vogue, could 2021 be the year of the temple filler?

For more information on temple fillers or any other aesthetic filler, please don’t hesitate to contact us in the clinic or book online for a free consultation with our aesthetic doctor.

As the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be just in sight, meaning less restrictions and hopefully resuming some much overdue normality. You may have noticed, last year the government plans to help in the fight against obesity.

Living with excess weight puts people at a higher risk of serious illness or complications, if contracting COVID-19. According to governments statistics, 8% of critically ill patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units have been morbidly obese compared with just 2.9% of the general population (link here). This information shows us that there could potentially be a problem for many and the NHS as restrictions ease.

Research in the UK taken place in 166 hospitals with over 16,749 participants, has suggested that people who are obese are 33% more likely to die with COVID-19 (link here).

Why could this be?

The reasons behind this are still being explored. In the early stages of the pandemic, experts quickly linked the following health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and coronary heart disease amongst many others, to higher rates of mortality for positive COVID-19 patients. As we already know, these health conditions are greatly linked to obesity.

In light of this information, the government have been focussing on how they can help in the fight against excess weight and obesity. With strategies such as banning the advertisement of high sugar, high fat foods before 9pm, when children are most likely to be influenced. Another tactic, placing high fat, high sugar foods in less convenient places in supermarkets, such as by the entrance and checkout.

With the recent dramatic change in how we live our lives and a big focus on our mental health, there is no better time like the present to address any weight concerns you may have.

People struggling with obesity had a 55% increased risk of developing depression over time. People experiencing depression had a 58% increased risk of becoming obese (link here).

We are continuing our look into soft tissue augmentation (fillers). Here we take a look at the difference between reversible and non reversible fillers, their compounds and the brands that are available. In this blog we are delving into the slightly less common filler of choice, non-reversible fillers such as Sculptra and Radiesse.

Non reversible fillers are slightly different from Hyaluronic acid fillers. They are not immediately dissolvable with Hyaluronidase and typically last longer, around 12 – 18 months. Sometimes up to 2 years depending on individual.

According to global news wire, *Hyaluronic acid fillers claimed 77% of the filler market in 2019. This data shows us that in general, these fillers are a more popular choice for clients. This may be due to the fact they are dissolvable, in such cases that the client doesn’t like the results or the rare instance they need to be removed for health reasons.

What are non-reversible fillers?

Non reversible fillers such as Sculptra are a slightly harder compound of filler, still performed in the same manner as Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane. Sculptra is made up of a compound called poly-L-lactic acid, this substance has also been successfully used in the medical industry for dissolvable stitches.

Another non reversible filler is Radiesse, this consists of a compound called calcium hydroxyapatite gel. This substance can give a instants results unlike Sculptra which results are gained over time, generally up to 6 weeks. We asked our very own aesthetic doctor, Dr Paul, what his opinion was on both non dissolvable fillers Radiesse and Sculptra and out of all fillers what type he prefers to use…

“There is no one filler fits all, generally, I would use Sculptra for longer lasting results on the face. Areas such as the jawline and cheekbones as it restores structure but also helps the body to produce more collagen in those areas. Radiesse can be used in larger areas, much like an implant say. Overall, I believe hyaluronic acid fillers are a great first option to add subtle enhancements in softer areas such as lips and tear trough where the skin is slightly thinner and more delicate”.

Our conclusion

There is a number of filler options available on the market. If you are struggling to know what may be best for you, you could get in touch with a reputable licensed medical aesthetic practitioner for advice. Ensure they are experienced and knowledgeable in the different fillers available and can help you understand the pro’s and cons of each so you can make an informed decision that is right for you.

Intermittent fasting has grown in popularity in recent years. Many people, including celebrities are using it to lose weight and improve their health however, does intermittent fasting work and is it right for you? Below we explain what intermittent fasting is and some of the known benefits…….

What is intermittent fasting?

Intermittent fasting is an eating regime that cycles between a period of fasting and a period of eating. Typical methods are 16/8 – where you fast for 16 hours and eat within an 8-hour period, for example between 12pm and 8pm. Alternatively, the 5:2 method, suggests consuming only 500-600 calories on two non-consecutive days and eating normally for the other 5 days of the week.

The Eat Stop Eat method involves doing a 24 hour fast once or twice per week and eating normally for the rest of the week. So, for example, if you have dinner on Monday evening at 6pm and then do not eat anything until Tuesday evening at 6pm, you have completed a 24 hour fast. You may drink water and other zero calorie beverages during the fasting periods.

By using one of these methods, you will reduce the number of calories you eat in a day and weight loss should follow, as long as you don’t over eat during the eating period. Studies have shown the most common and successful method is the 16/8 method. Scroll down for 5 day diet plan using this method.

What are some of the benefits of intermittent fasting?

Weight loss and a reduction in belly fat

According to research, intermittent fasting can help you lose weight and belly fat.1

A review of scientific data in 2014 showed that intermittent fasting can cause weight loss of between 3-8% over 3-24 weeks. In addition, people also lost 4-7% of their waist circumference which indicates a reduction in belly fat.1 which is great news for slimmers!

Can reduce insulin resistance

Type 2 diabetes is on the increase and is diagnosed by an increased amount of glucose in the blood.

Human trials on intermittent fasting showed a reduction of fasting blood sugar by 3-6%.1

Can reduce oxidative stress & inflammation

Oxidative stress is bad news for the body this can lead to cell and tissue damage and is involved in many chronic health conditions.2

Fortunately, several studies have shown that intermittent fasting may support the body to guard against inflammation and oxidative stress.3,4

May support heart health

Research suggests that intermittent fasting may reduce ‘bad’ cholesterol, blood triglycerides, blood sugar and insulin resistance – which are all factors linked to heart disease.5

May prevent cancer

Results of animal studies show that intermittent fasting may be a tool to prevent cancer.6

A word of caution

Intermittent fasting may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with type 2 diabetes can fast, however they should do so only under medical supervision. Individuals taking medication should discuss with their GP whether intermittent fasting is right for them, due to the need for some medication to be taken with food. Fasting is not recommended for adolescents who are still growing and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not fast.

Additionally, fasting is not suitable for anyone with an eating disorder or who have a history of an eating disorder.

To finish

Intermittent fasting can be a great tool to aid weight loss and with the added benefits as highlighted above therefore for those who can fast it is worth a try. For those individuals who cannot fast, there are other strategies that can help. if you want more information about this chat to our specialist weight loss Dr or nutritionist for guidance.
