Understanding Regenerative Skincare Advancements

In the fast-evolving world of aesthetic medicine, regenerative skincare treatments are becoming the go-to solution for achieving healthier, younger-looking skin without invasive surgery. Two of the most talked-about innovations in this field are exosomes and polynucleotides (PNs). Though both promise skin rejuvenation and cellular repair, they work through distinct mechanisms and offer different benefits. Understanding the difference between exosomes and polynucleotides is essential for patients considering cutting-edge skincare solutions.

As a provider of both Polynucleotides and Exosomes in Liverpool, here we will break down how each treatment works, what sets them apart, and why combining the two might offer a superior skin-repair strategy.

Talk to us Directly

What Are Exosomes in Skincare?

How Exosomes Work

Exosomes are microscopic extracellular vesicles naturally released by cells. Think of them as messengers: they carry proteins, lipids, and RNA from one cell to another, triggering regeneration, repair, and communication between skin cells.

These vesicles are harvested from stem cells in controlled lab settings and introduced into the skin via microneedling, injections, or topical applications. Once absorbed, they signal skin cells to ramp up healing, collagen production, and inflammation control.

Key Benefits of Exosomes

Boost cellular communication and coordination

Enhance collagen and elastin production

Accelerate wound healing and tissue recovery

Improve skin tone and radiance

Reduce redness, pigmentation and inflammation

Best For: Patients looking for holistic anti-ageing, post-laser recovery, or skin revitalisation treatments that enhance skin health on a cellular level.

What Are Polynucleotides (PNs)?

How Polynucleotides Work

Polynucleotides are long-chain molecules made up of nucleotides – the fundamental units of DNA and RNA. In aesthetic treatments, they are derived from purified salmon DNA and injected into the skin to activate tissue repair and regeneration.

Unlike exosomes, which are messengers, polynucleotides act more like a “repair kit.” They provide the skin with the structural components needed to rebuild and strengthen tissue.

Key Benefits of Polynucleotides

Deep hydration of the dermis

Structural skin repair at the cellular level

Improvement in elasticity and firmness

Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles

Enhanced vascularisation (better oxygenation)

Best For: Patients dealing with crepey skin, dehydration, under-eye hollows, or visible signs of skin ageing that require direct structural regeneration.

Exosomes vs. Polynucleotides: What’s the Difference?

Feature

Exosomes

Deep repair & hydration

Post-procedure healing, anti-ageing

Under-eye treatment, texture repair

Functional Differences

While exosomes tell your cells what to do, polynucleotides provide the materials needed to do it. Exosomes stimulate skin to heal and regenerate via signalling, whereas polynucleotides directly nourish and restore the skin structure.

Can Exosomes and Polynucleotides be Used Together?

Yes, in fact, many aesthetic practitioners now recommend combining the two for compounded regenerative effects.

Exosomes initiate and enhance cellular communication and response.

Polynucleotides provide the resources (nucleotides) required to complete the repair process.

Together, they:

Deliver faster, more comprehensive healing

Improve hydration and elasticity

Provide both deep repair and surface-level radiance

Who Should Consider These Treatments?

Ideal Candidates for Exosomes

Post-laser or microneedling recovery

Ageing skin needing a holistic rejuvenation

Patients seeking preventive skincare support

Ideal Candidates for Polynucleotides

Fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness

Under-eye hollowness and dark circles

Dehydrated, crepey skin needing structural repair

Real Results: Patient Outcomes & Expectations

Most patients notice:

With Exosomes: Softer skin, faster healing, better radiance within 1–2 weeks.

With Polynucleotides: Improved firmness, under-eye brightness, and hydration after 2–3 sessions.

Pro tip: Results build over time, especially when used in synergy. Maintenance every 6–12 months is recommended.

Are These Treatments Safe?

Yes, both are considered safe when administered by qualified professionals.

Polynucleotides are biocompatible and well-tolerated.

Exosomes are rigorously tested and free from cell nuclei, reducing immune risks.

Side effects are mild and may include redness or slight swelling at the injection site.

Making the Right Regenerative Skincare Choice

The difference between exosomes and polynucleotides comes down to how they support your skin’s healing journey, either by sparking the process (exosomes) or fuelling it (PNs). For patients looking for regenerative skincare in Liverpool, our transformative, science-backed therapies are opening new doors in non-surgical aesthetics.

Whether you’re seeking targeted repair, overall skin rejuvenation, or both, Bold Street Clinic’s expert-led treatments can help you restore and maintain healthy, radiant skin.

Book your personalised consultation at Bold Street Clinic today and explore how polynucleotides, exosomes, or both can renew your skin from within.

The Future of Eye Rejuvenation in Liverpool

Do you struggle with dark circles, fine lines, or under-eye hollows that make you look tired and older than you feel? While lower blepharoplasty is a well-known surgical solution, many patients are now turning to a non-surgical alternative—polynucleotide therapy.

At Bold Street Clinic, we offer advanced polynucleotide injections in Liverpool, designed to hydrate, repair, and rejuvenate the under-eye area. If you’re looking for a minimally invasive, natural-looking solution to brighten and smooth your eyes, this treatment could be perfect for you.

What Are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are bio-stimulating molecules derived from salmon DNA, known for their ability to:

Boost collagen & elastin production

Deeply hydrate & improve skin texture

Reduce fine lines, wrinkles & under-eye hollows

Brighten dark circles & rejuvenate tired eyes

Unlike dermal fillers, which simply add volume, polynucleotide therapy stimulates natural skin regeneration, making it ideal for delicate areas like the under-eyes.

Polynucleotide Therapy vs. Lower Blepharoplasty: Which Is Right for You?

Lower Blepharoplasty (Surgical Option)

Lower blepharoplasty is a surgical eyelid procedure that removes excess fat and skin to reduce under-eye bags and wrinkles.

Long-lasting results

Ideal for severe sagging

Requires surgery & downtime

Higher cost

Polynucleotide Therapy (Non-Surgical Option)

Polynucleotides work by repairing and regenerating the skin, improving hydration and elasticity over time.

Non-invasive with no surgery required

Stimulates natural collagen renewal

Minimal downtime—return to daily activities quickly

Gradual, natural-looking improvement

If you’re looking for a gentle but highly effective way to brighten, firm, and smooth your under-eyes, polynucleotide therapy is a game-changing alternative to lower blepharoplasty.

How Does Polynucleotide Under-Eye Treatment Work?

The treatment involves a series of small injections directly into the under-eye area. Polynucleotides work at a cellular level to:

Increase hydration, reducing crepey texture

Stimulate collagen to smooth fine lines & wrinkles

Reduce pigmentation, brightening dark circles

Improve skin elasticity, reducing sagging

Treatment Process

Consultation: Our experts at Bold Street Clinic assess your concerns & customise your treatment plan.

Injection Session: Polynucleotides are gently injected into the under-eye area.

Recovery: Mild swelling or redness may occur but resolves within 24-48 hours.

Results: Improvements develop over weeks to months, as collagen rebuilds for long-lasting results.

Most patients require 2-3 sessions, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, for optimal rejuvenation.

Who Is Polynucleotide Therapy Best For?

Anyone with dark circles, fine lines, or under-eye hollows

People who want a non-surgical, natural-looking solution

Those experiencing early signs of ageing around the eyes

Patients who want minimal downtime & a gradual transformation

Unlike fillers, which simply add volume, polynucleotides stimulate healing & long-term skin improvement—making them a perfect choice for those looking for subtle, natural enhancement.

Why Choose Bold Street Clinic for Polynucleotide Therapy in Liverpool?

Behind the Science: Why the Million Dollar Facial Is Worth Every Penny

Immersed in Liverpool’s vibrant Ropewalks district, Bold Street Clinic offers a luxurious skincare experience that goes beyond traditional facial treatments—the Million Dollar Facial. Designed to rejuvenate and transform, this advanced treatment combines modern techniques with high-grade products to deliver radiant, glowing skin. But what makes it truly worth every penny? Let’s explore the science backing this revolutionary skincare treatment and uncover its value for your skin.

The Advanced Techniques That Define the Million Dollar Facial

The Million Dollar Facial isn’t your typical skincare treatment. This procedure harnesses the power of advanced techniques, carefully orchestrated to deliver maximum results. At our Liverpool skin clinic, we offer a variety of Million Dollar Facials that mix and match the following, tailored to your needs:

Microneedling for Enhanced Skin Renewal

Microneedling is a procedure that creates tiny, controlled punctures in the skin using medical-grade needles. This stimulates collagen production and accelerates cellular repair, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. Microneedling also enhances the absorption of active ingredients used during the facial, ensuring deeper penetration for superior results.

Dermaplaning for a Flawless Finish

Dermaplaning is another phase, where a sterile blade gently removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the skin’s surface. This step enhances the skin’s texture, reduces dullness, and provides the perfect canvas for the remaining stages of the treatment.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage for Detoxification

A relaxing lymphatic drainage massage promotes the removal of toxins, reduces puffiness, and enhances circulation. This technique helps to sculpt and define facial contours while rejuvenating the skin from within.

The Million Dollar Serum & SPF50

The finishing touches that elevate the results of the Million Dollar Facial. Packed with potent active ingredients, the Million Dollar Serum nourishes and hydrates the skin, promoting elasticity and a radiant glow. It penetrates deep into the skin to deliver essential nutrients, ensuring long-lasting results. To protect the rejuvenated skin, a high-quality SPF50 is applied, shielding it from harmful UV rays and environmental damage. This essential step locks in the facial’s benefits while providing critical sun protection, helping maintain a youthful, healthy complexion.
The variety of facials we offer at our Liverpool aesthetic clinic all vary based on our client’s individual needs. Explore the options here or speak directly with one of our experts to determine which is suited for your personal requirements.

Industry-Leading Products for Unparalleled Results

We adhere to using and promoting only the finest skincare products in the aesthetics industry to complement the Million Dollar Facial. These formulations are rich in antioxidants, peptides, and vitamins, delivering nourishment and protection to your skin. Our carefully selected serums are tailored to your skin’s unique needs, ensuring optimal results every time.

Anti Wrinkle Injections, more commonly known as Botox, have in recent years become an increasingly popular treatment of choice amongst men and women of all ages. Mainly used to smooth and even prevent lines and wrinkles forming.

The most common areas of choice being the forehead. Used to smooth lines such as ‘frown lines’ and around the eyes smoothing and preventing ‘crows feet’. But, did you know, medical professionals are now using Botox in other areas of the face to create more aesthetic enhancements.

Masseter Botox

The Masseter muscle is the muscle located between the cheek and the jaw. This muscle is responsible for aiding in chewing. In some cases, the masseter muscle can cause problems such as clenching of the jaw, this gives the appearance of a wider face. Botox in this muscle can help relax the muscle and create a slimmer facial silhouette.

The Lip Flip Botox

Botox can be injected into the middle of the upper lip to help relax the orbicularis oris muscle. Doing this creates a very slight drop and curl upwards of the lip, which gives the appearance of a fuller pout.

Necklace Lines

‘Necklace bands’, ‘turkey neck’ are just some of the common terms used for this problem area. Overstimulation of the platysma muscle, that runs from the lower cheek, down, over the clavicles and across the curve of the neck is most commonly responsible for causing these lines. Botox can be injected into the Platysma to relax this muscle, giving a smoother more taught appearance to the neck area. Less turkey and more Cleopatra!

These treatments are more advance than the more familiar areas of Botox we all know. It is, always recommended seeking out a highly skilled medical professional to undergo any of these treatments to ensure suitability.

Our day to day lives have drastically changed in 2020. We are spending more time at home, less time outdoors and possibly eating and drinking all the things that we shouldn’t be. As well as an increase in stress levels and lack of sleep, this is all having a negative impact on our skin.

So, what can we do about it?

First and foremost, manage your stress levels. When we are faced with stress, our adrenal glands produce an increase in cortisol, which is great for helping us to deal with a stressor but it also increases sugar levels in the blood stream and an increase in sebum, which may be the cause of skin breakouts. Take some time each day to relax, do some yoga, read a book, or focus on a hobby. Anything that will relax your mind.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!! Drinking 8 glasses of filtered water daily will help your body get rid of toxins. Water promotes gut health, aids in nutrient absorption and will give your skin a healthy radiant glow. If you do not enjoy plain water, try adding slices of fruit to a glass of water, like orange and lemon slices or cucumber and mint leaves.

Nutrition – we are what we eat and so is our skin. If we consume inflammatory foods like refined carbohydrates, processed food, sugar and alcohol, our skin can look tired, dry and be prone to breakouts. However, if we nourish our skin by eating a healthy balanced diet, including protein, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates and fruit and vegetables we will be rewarded with nourished, healthy looking skin.

Some good food choices:

Fatty fish

Like salmon, sardines and mackerel contain omega-3 fats, vitamin E and zinc which are all especially important for skin health. Fatty fish is also a good source of protein, which is important for the strength and integrity of our skin. A deficiency in omega-3’s can cause dry, damaged skin. Aim for 2 to 3 portions of fatty fish a week.

Sweet potatoes

Contain beta carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. It acts as a natural sunblock and may prevent dry, wrinkled skin. Vitamin A is essential for collagen production and controls keratin, which makes up most of our skin cells. A bonus to eating a high amount of beta carotene, is a possible warm healthy glow to the skin. CARROTS, WINTER SQUASHES and CANTALOUPE MELONS are other good sources of beta carotene.

Red grapes

Contain resveratrol which slows down the effects of aging and they make a perfect afternoon snack along with a handful of nuts. Unfortunately, drinking red wine does not have the same effect. Sigh!

Sunflower seeds

Nuts and seeds in general are packed with skin boosting nutrients. An ounce of sunflower seeds, for example, contains vitamin E, selenium, zinc and protein. Just 2 brazil nuts a day provides your daily requirement of selenium. Selenium stops free radical damage, preventing wrinkles forming and is also important for skin cell membranes. Add seeds and/or nuts to soups, salads, cereal or yoghurt.

Other important nutrients for your skin include vitamin C, B vitamins and collagen, which are important proteins for skin health, found in meat, fish, citrus fruits and red and yellow vegetables.

Finally, don’t forget your skin care routine. Cleanse, exfoliate (twice weekly), tone and moisturise your skin daily.

If you incorporate the above into your daily life, you will not only notice a boost to your energy and mood but will also enjoy a brighter, clearer complexion to show off to the world. Beautiful healthy skin is only a few steps away.
