Profhilo – What is all the hype?!
2019 saw a rise of the wonder treatment, Profhilo, clinics were going mad for it and blogs were popping up everywhere reviewing this new cutting edge, scientifically advanced anti aging skin treatment!
Grazia and the Telegraph both concluded it in their tried and tested treatments and when asked ‘is it worth it’? Polly Vernon responded, ‘Hell yes!’
So, what is Profhilo?
An injectable skin remodelling treatment, containing the highest concentrate of Hyaluronic acid on the market currently. Profhilo claims to lift, luminate and increase skins elasticity and firmness.
How does Profhilo work?
Despite being an aesthetic injection, Profhilo is a natural approach to anti aging. Different from dermal fillers, Profhilo acts as an internal hydrator, rebuilding the structures of the skin from the inside out, giving spectacular but natural results with no worry of any lumps and bumps.
How is Profhilo carried out?
Profhilo is carried out over two sessions 4 weeks apart. It uses 10 injection points on the face or neck area and the HA solution is disbursed just under the skins surface. Within around 3 – 5 days you can see an increase in luminosity however, best results are seen after the second treatment.
What are the downsides?
Profhilo works on the lower parts of the face and so isn’t suitable for the forehead or above eyebrow area, however is can be combined with other aesthetic treatments such as anti wrinkle injections and fillers for an enhanced result.
For clients with more significant signs of ageing Profhilo will give more of a subtle result and so other treatments such as dermal fillers may be more suitable.
